TRAVEL DETAILS: Getting To Madison Square Garden

Before the celebration and dancing dies down, ISU Associate Athletic Director David Harris is hard at work organizing all the travel details for the next destination.

In this case, New York City.

“Obviously we’re very happy about winning the game but as soon as you win, your mind turns toward getting ready for the next location,” Harris says.

A Sweet 16 berth means more media coverage. Everyone wants a piece of the Cyclones. Radio shows, TV shows, podcasts, you name it. After Sunday night’s win, requests came pouring in.

The man in charge of handling all of those requests is Matt Shoultz.

“By the time I was off the court at 8 p.m., I probably had 15 national radio requests for Fred (Hoiberg),” Shoultz says.

Hectic, chaotic and long hours. But well worth it.

The Cyclones will play University of Connecticut at New York’s Madison Square Garden Friday.
