A Knoxville teacher and coach accused of sexually abusing a teenage girl has resigned.
Troy Rider’s letter of resignation was accepted at Monday’s Knoxville school board meeting.
He’s been on paid administrative leave since last month when an investigation into allegations against him began.
Rider is charged with two counts of third degree sexual abuse and one count of sexual exploitation by a teacher.
He was a physical education teacher and the head varsity football coach for Knoxville.
