People in the Polk City area will soon have a detour to navigate.

The mile long bridge over Saylorville Lake will be closed for about two months starting Monday at 9:00 a.m. Repair work is needed on the bridge.

Traffic is being detoured around the bridge using Iowa 415, Northwest 26th Street, Northwest 66th Avenue and Northwest Beaver Drive.

According to the Department of Transportation, nearly 8,000 vehicles drive the bridge over Saylorville Lake every day.

    I tell ya!!
I feel pretty lucky in my community on traveling on the roads here in Ogden/Boone/Ames/on hwy#30-Des Moines.
The roads in Cedar Falls/Waterloo are really deteriorating up there.
    It’s just aweful!!
You should see it, plus they got high gas prices up there. $3.55.
