DOWNTOWN STABBING: Student Helping Friend Hurt

A Grandview student trying to help a friend got stabbed four times Saturday night after getting into a fight downtown.

The Des Moines Register says it happened at 100 Second Avenue just before 2 a.m.

Police say three men left a bar and were confronted by three other men. The groups got into a fight and one man was thrown down a flight of stairs.

A friend tried to help him and that’s when he got stabbed four times in the abdomen. The victim is currently in hospital and in stable condition.

Police haven’t announced any arrests.
