The Des Moines City Council will vote on an interim city manager next week.

The council members will make a decision on selecting assistant city manager Larry Hulse for the job on Monday.

If approved, Hulse will start May 31st. He will have all the duties and responsibilities of the city manager as the city council goes through the application process in hiring a new one.

The current city manager, Rick Clark, is stepping down having served for the seven years.

Clark and his wife are planning a move to Cleveland.
