DECORAH EAGLES: First Egg Of 2014 Hatches

The Decorah eagles’ first eaglet of the 2014 season hatched!

A small hole, or pip, in the egg was visible Tuesday morning. That signaled that a hatch was on the way as the eaglet tries to work its way out of the shell.

Wednesday morning video from the Raptor Resource Project’s web camera showed the eaglet, D18, out of its shell. The RRP says the eaglet hatched at 9:22 a.m.

The first eagle egg was laid on February 23rd.
