RAIN & SNOW: Storms Turn To Winter

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop and spread over Central Iowa through this evening. Severe weather is not expected at this time.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in place for far North Central Iowa as the rain will eventually change to snow late tonight into the early morning hours Friday. 1 to 3" of snow is possible Fort Dodge to Mason City with higher amounts in far NW Iowa, along the Minnesota border.

Snow may wrap around Western Iowa, as far south as I-80, with even a dusting of snow possible in Des Moines.

Temperatures will warm up a bit over the weekend, with a chance for showers late Sunday through Tuesday.

Much warmer weather will return on Wednesday.
