We now know who’ll fill Rick Clark’s shoes, at least temporarily, when he retires from the job of Des Moines City Manager at the end of May.

At a Monday evening meeting, Assistant City Manager Larry Hulse was named interim city manager.

He will hold that title until a permanent replacement is named and that’s a job Hulse says he would accept.

“I may. It’s one of those things, you look at the job, the council will look at what they are looking for, for that person things they think is important and I’ll be looking at myself to see if I match up,” Hulse said.

Hulse has worked in the city manager’s office for three years.
