OKLAND MURDER: Police Say Case Is Still ‘Active’

Tuesday marks the three year anniversary of the murder of West Des Moines realtor Ashley Okland.

She was shot to death while working at a model townhome at 558 Stone Creek Court on April 8th, 2011. No arrests have been made in the 27-year-old’s murder but police continue to believe someone has information on the case that has not yet come forward.

Over the investigation detectives have followed up on 781 leads, had contact with 400 people, and served several search warrants.

Police say the case remains active and two detectives are currently assigned to it. Solving Okland’s murder remains the department’s highest priority.

Up to $150,000 is available as a reward for information leading to an arrest in the case. If you have information about Okland’s murder you’re asked to contact Polk County Crime Stoppers at 223-1400.
