The Iowa Statehouse went dark Tuesday morning in Des Moines.

It happened around 7:15 a.m. and lasted for about ten minutes.

The outage occurred during a test being conducted by the Department of Administrative Services. The test was on the capitol complex’s emergency power system.

DAS says further testing was done to ensure the system is working properly.

After everything re-booted, the House and Senate convened for debate just after 10:30 a.m.
