A metro book store is giving away 13,000 children’s books to non-profit organizations and schools in need.
The giveaway started Wednesday afternoon at Half Price Books in Clive.
Organizers say those who wanted books filled out a form online that way the business could make sure those with the biggest needs got books.
The books were collected during a month long drive earlier this month and for every book donated Half Price Books chipped in another.
“To promote literacy. We are all readers here. We love reading and we want to make sure the next generation are readers too,” the store’s Aaron Winters said.
This is the fifth year Half Price Books has done the public book giveaway.
