Residents between Fort Dodge and Waterloo may have noticed some low flying jets Wednesday afternoon.

The flights, which involved fighter jets in close proximity to a military-controlled civilian plane, are part of the North American Aerospace Defense Command training exercises.

NORAD conduct exercises so they are able to respond to airspace restriction violations, hijackings and unknown aircrafts.

The tests check response times and all equipment and systems.
