Why are there not wholesome activities for these students to engage in during VEISHEA week? Is VEISHEA now only seen as a drunk fest? While the kids participated hands-on, it appears that many poor decisions by their parents, ISU, Ames law enforcement, alcohol retailers, and the VEISHEA committee all contributed to this in some way. No one has yet to say what exactly these hundreds students were doing roaming the streets on a Tuesday night, a school night. Whatever brought them out needs to be shut down, whether its the campustown bars, partying in yards, street vendors or beer tents and bands. And a strict curfew and alcohol ban permanently in place on and around campus property. It’s sad that it’s come to this, but you get what you ask for.
