YOUNKERS TRAFFIC: Two Streets To Reopen
There is still no word from engineers on the future of the downtown Younkers building.
They began investigating the structure on Tuesday checking to see if any part of the building is salvageable or if it has to be torn down.
We were told an answer could come as soon as today but a decision still hasn’t been made.
However, some of the streets around the Younkers building are now re-opening.
Eighth Street from Mulberry to Locust and Walnut Street between 8th and 9th will be open Thursday morning.
Walnut remains closed between 6th and 8th while 7th is still closed between Locust and Mulberry.
