AIRPORT UPGRADES: Sen. Harkin Announces $3m Investment

Iowa airports will be receiving more than $3-million to make improvements.

Senator Tom Harkin made the announcement Thursday.

Funding from the US Department of Transportation will pay for renovations at airports in Des Moines, Iowa City, Mount Pleasant and Waterloo.

Des Moines International Airport will receive nearly two million of those dollars. The money will be used to rehabilitate the runway, access road and apron.
