AMES - The Cyclones are coming off the worst season under Paul Rhoads, 3 wins 9 losses.  After many coaching changes Iowa State fans and players are feeling better about next years team.

Grant Rohach has a firm grasp on the #1 QB spot, the backup is a battle between Sam Richardson and Ankeny native Joel Lanning.

The Cyclone defense seems to be the biggest question mark heading in to the new season, but they answered the call on Saturday at the spring game.

Iowa State opens up the season August 30th at home against North Dakota State.
