The Iowa State men's basketball team received a special honor from state leaders Monday.

The Cyclones were recognized on the House and Senate floors for their success this season which included winning the Big 12 Tournament and a Sweet Sixteen birth in the NCAA Tournament.

Coach Fred Hoiberg predicted the Cyclones would have beaten UConn had they been at full strength.

“It was a great day just all the support we've had from the Senate to the Congress over the course of a year,” Coach Fred Hoiberg said. “It's been incredible. Just the phone calls we've gotten from the different representatives.”

The team was also taken on a tour of the Capitol.

kurt your comment makes no sense. You do not know how “Joel” would have played whoever “Joel” is. maybe he has the worst night of his life ISU still wins and then out of depression “Joel” quits basketball forever. You cannot predict the future or change the past. So chill its only BASKETBALL.
