WASIKE BEATING: Teen’s Trial Begins

The trial for a teenager accused in a brutal Des Moines carjacking begins Monday.

Seventeen-year-old Terrence Cheeks faces two counts of first degree robbery. Investigators say Cheeks and two other teens severely beat Mike Wasike in a carjacking last year.

Wasike suffered a fractured skull and brain damage. He remains under constant care at a rehab facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Sixteen-year-old Leshaun Murray took a plea deal in his case. He will be sentenced in June.

Seventeen-year-old Kenneth Barry is scheduled for trial in May.

    How in the heck is this only robbery? Are you kidding me???? These punks should never again see the light of day. They straight up tried to kill this poor man, and in effect DID kill him. He will never recover and live his life as before.
