A Chinese national accused of trying to steal genetically modified seed corn from DuPont Pioneer and Monsanto is now free on bond.

Mo Hailong was released from federal custody this week after posting a $50,000 bond.

Authorities say they caught him trying to smuggle the seed corn, worth millions, back to China.

Five others are also suspected of being involved in the plot. They remain fugitives and are believed to be in China and Canada.
