TORNADO WATCH: Rainy Week

A Tornado Watch is in effect for south central Iowa until 7 PM. The counties included are Adair, Adams, Appanoose, Audubon, Cass, Clarke,  Dallas, Decatur, Guthrie, Jasper, Lucas, Madison, Marion, Monroe, Polk, Ringgold, Taylor, Union, Warren, and Wayne.

A Tornado Watch is in effect for south central Iowa until 7 PM. The counties included are Adair, Adams, Appanoose, Audubon, Cass, Clarke,  Dallas, Decatur, Guthrie, Jasper, Lucas, Madison, Marion, Monroe, Polk, Ringgold, Taylor, Union, Warren, and Wayne.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for southeast Iowa including Davis, Mahaska, Poweshiek, and Wappello Counties until 9 PM.

Winds will be strong from the southeast at 15 to 25 mph. Winds will be strongest in northern Iowa today with wind speeds gusting to as high as 40 mph at times. A Wind Advisory is in effect until 9 PM across the northern part of the state. Highs will reach 70 degrees.

The risk of severe weather will increase later today. Between the hours of 2 PM and 8 PM is when we have the best chance of seeing stronger storms that may produce hail, damaging winds, and even an isolated tornado threat. Stay weather aware!

Monday will begin dry but more showers and a few storms may fire up again in the afternoon. The week ahead will be cloudy and cool with showers likely through Thursday.
