At least one death is attributed to a tornado that hit Tupelo, Mississippi Monday afternoon.

WTVA chief meteorologist Matt Laubahn ordered everyone off the set and into the basement as the storm hit the TV station.

Early reports say the storm was around one-mile wide.

Officials say the one fatality was caused when a vehicle was blown off the road in Tupelo by the high winds.

A number of other injuries have also been reported.
