STRAIGHT-LINE WINDS: Storm Damage In Lovilia

People in Lovilia in Monroe County say they saw a tornado near their town around 3:00 p.m. Sunday, but the National Weather Service says there were only straight-line winds in the area.

The storm tore off shingles, ripped off parts of sheds, and downed trees. Blue tarps cover holes in roofs to keep rain from coming in and creating even more damage.

A few minutes later, a trained spotter reported a tornado touchdown briefly in a field outside of Floris in Davis County. The observer said there were no signs of damage.
