A major central Iowa music festival is changing venues because of the unpredictable spring weather.

LAZERfest is moving from the outdoor Central Iowa Expo in Boone to Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. The concert is still scheduled for May 11th but will now have an indoor and outdoor experience.

LAZER 103.3 Brand Manager Ryan Patrick says, “The weather is always a wildcard with LAZERfest, but with this year’s history of high winds, rain, and cold temperatures we don’t want to chance it so we’re taking the party downtown at Wells Fargo Arena. It’s the best of both worlds with half the show outside and the other half inside the arena.”

Headliners for the event are Queens of the Stone Age and the Offspring. Other performers are: Theory of a Deadman, Machine Head, Pop Evil, Thousand Foot Krutch, and The Pretty Reckless.

Officials say tickets that have already been purchased will be honored. You can find more information about the festival here.
