TRAFFIC CAMERAS: DOT Deadline Nears
Cities across the state have until Thursday to prove to the Iowa Department of Transportation that their automated traffic cameras are doing what they’re supposed to.
Early this year the DOT passed new rules for the use of traffic cameras on state roads and interstates.
Local officials have until tomorrow to turn overs statistics to the DOT that shows the cameras are reducing crashes in those areas.
Sioux City has filed a lawsuit asking a judge to throw out the new rules.
