Light showers moved through Central Iowa this afternoon. However, with very dry air in place, rainfall totals were than 0.05" with the showers and sprinkles mainly serving a simply a cloudy interruption of the afternoon sunshine.

We cool off into the middle 60s with partly cloudy skies for Sunday. There is also a slight chance of a pop-up shower or two in the morning, mainly in northern Iowa.

The real warming begins on Monday with highs expected to be in the middle to upper 60s and mostly sunny skies. Wednesday looks to be the best day of the week as far as temperatures go with highs topping out in the middle 80s for portions of Central Iowa. With the added heat, we have an increased chance of seeing some strong to severe storms by Wednesday into Thursday.
