Crews will get working on the burnt Younkers building in downtown Des Moines this week.
Authorities say scaffolding will go up on the building Tuesday. That way the east side of the structure, which is the most heavily damaged, will be ready for demolition. That side of the building could begin coming down as soon as Wednesday.
Work was delayed last week due to rainy weather and falling glass from nearby structures.
The building went up in flames on March 29th.
The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined.
