Residents of a southwest Iowa town lined up to help move the contents of its old library to the new location Tuesday – and they did it in a unique way.

KMA Radio reports Stanton residents formed a human chain to move each book to the new library at the Viking Center. About 350 to 400 people participated, including all of the students in the Stanton School District.

The library’s director says the idea to move the books this way came from a similar operation he heard about at a Nebraska library.

The Viking Center will open on May 14th.
