Overnight tonight winds will be light and from the west at temperatures settle into the mid-40s under clear skies.

Saturday will be warmer again with highs climbing into the mid to upper-70s. After some sun, clouds will be into the state and eventually lead to some scattered showers and storms. Most of the thunderstorms should remain below severe limits during the early evening, though an isolated strong storm along the Missouri border is not out of the question.

Mother's Day will bring a better chance for strong and severe storms to the state. After some early morning showers and storms, we should see a midday break with some sunshine heating things up and setting up the area for another round of severe weather as a cold front drops into the state. The best chance for strong storms will be over the SE half of the state, and after 3pm.
