Active weather will continue for Central Iowa during Mother's Day Weekend. Saturday starts with mostly cloudy skies and light showers moving through the state. We will have drier conditions mid-day with temperatures rising to the upper 70s, but isolated storms will redevelop in western Iowa late today and move through Central Iowa this evening. There is the possibility those storms may produce damaging winds and large hail.
More storms are expected on Mother's Day and they are also more likely. Those storms may also become severe. The first cluster of storms will move through Sunday morning with brief drying mid-day. More storms will develop late Sunday. Again there is a risk of hail, damaging winds and tornadoes.
Showers will linger on Monday. The work week will be cooler with highs in the 60s.
