Iowa State University has released images of what Jack Trice Stadium will look like after a planned upgrade to bowl-in the south end zone.
The renovation will add permanent upper and lower level seating. It will also include a new premium club space on both levels.
A large HD video board and sound system are being added to the south end zone area as well.
“The atmosphere of an enclosed stadium – supported by a huge video board at each end of the stadium – will significantly enhance the game day experience,” says ISU Athletics Director Jamie Pollard.
The stadium will hold more than 61,000 after the project is completed.
The plans go to the Iowa Board of Regens for final approve on June 5th. Construction on the first phase of the project is expected to be finished in August of 2015.
A second phase of the project focuses on improvements to the parking and green space areas near the stadium.
The upgrades to the stadium and nearby parking and green areas are part of a $60 million project to enhance the campus’ primary entrance.
