Of the six Republicans running for Iowa’s 3rd Congressional district, the Des Moines Register editorial board endorsed just one.

The Register says Monte Shaw has the ability to appeal to all parties, making him the best choice for the position.

Shaw appeared Channel 13’s The Insiders Sunday morning. He said that he has all the tools Iowans want, “I’ve got the tool set the skill set if you will, to be affective once elected. It’s not enough to just get elected and go out there and pound the table. We need someone who can roll up their sleeves and actually get stuff done to change the direction of the country.”

Shaw is running against five other candidates for the Republican nomination. That includes Robert Cramer, Joe Grandanette, Matt Schultz, David Young, and Brad Zaun.

The winner of the June 3rd primary will face Democrat Staci Appel.
