SUSPECT ARREST: Des Moines Teen Shot

A Des Moines teen is recovering after he was shot early Sunday morning.

Police say a 16-year-old checked into Mercy Hospital just before 10:00 a.m. with a gunshot wound to the upper part of his body. He is listed in serious condition.

Officers later arrested 18-year-old Delynn Sanders in connection to the case. He’s charged with reckless use of firearm causing serious injury.

Sanders is being held in the Polk County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
