STATE TRACK: Boone duo goes out on top

DES MOINES - The 2014 state track meet will go down as one of the best ever.  27 new records, and over 35,000 fans in attendance.

Some notable winners.  The great Boone running duo of Chandler Austin and Albert Meier go 1-2 in the 3A 1600 to close out their career, Thomas Pollard of Gilbert finishes 3rd.

The boys from Albia battled adversity all week, and 1 day after winning the 4X200 the Blue Demons take gold in the 4X400.

Roosevelt star Jalynn Roberts-Lewis wins the long jump, 100, and 200 meters to close out her career as one of the most accomplished 4A track and field athletes ever.  Her teammate Sydne Davis captured the 110 hurdles just 1 day after winning the 400 hurdles.

Dowling Catholic's Rico Gafford won the 100 and 200 meter dashes.

Urbandale's Mary Young capped off her stellar career with a 100 hurdle win and a shuttle hurdle relay victory.
