Cubs’ top prospect Javy Baez started the season in Iowa extremely slow. But Baez is finally starting to look like the hitter everyone expected.
On Monday, Baez was named the PCL player of the week. It’s the first position player award for the I-Cubs in three years.
During the previous seven days, Javy hit .400, which included three home runs and six doubles.
The 21-year-old continued his hot hitting during today’s game with three more hits as the I-Cubs roughed up Colorado Springs 12-3.
Baez is riding an 11 game hitting streak. I-Cubs are now 27-21 on the season and lead the Northern Division. They now hit the road for an eight game trip.
