BICYCLIST HIT: Ames Teen Injured In Accident

A 13-year-old girl was injured Monday night after the bike she was riding was struck by a car in Ames.

The accident happened just before 9:00 p.m. at the intersection of Kellogg Avenue and Lincoln Way. Ames police say the girl was traveling northbound on Kellogg when she crossed against the light and was struck by a car heading westbound on Lincoln Way. The car had a green light.

The teen was taken to Mary Greeley Hospital but she has since been released. She suffered minor head injuries and a leg injury.
