On Sunday, a vigil was held in Montezuma for the 6 - year- old girl who was killed in an accident last week.

On Monday, June 26th, Kara Meyer was riding with her father in an off - roading vehicle when the road it was parked on gave way causing the vehicle to tip, pinning Meyer's underneath. She died two days later.

More than 150 people gathered on the courthouse lawn in Montezuma and released pink balloons, Meyer's favorite color. They also lit candles in her honor.

The young girl's parents described her as a fun, loving girl who loved to help out on the farm.

Meyer's funeral is scheduled for Monday at 10:30 at the Community Hope Church in Montezuma. It is open to the public.
