JOHNSTON ARSON: Fire Damages Park Building

Johnston police are investigating three arson fires at different parks.

The latest one happened Wednesday morning at Dewey Park.

Police say someone lit a fire in the men’s bathroom and it caused significant damage on the inside of the building.

The other two fires happened last week at Lew Clarkson Park.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Polk County crime stoppers at (515) 223-1400.

    I don’t understand vandalism. At least with theft, which I am NOT condoning, you can understand that there financial gain for the thief.

    There is only harm coming from something like slashing tires, tipping tombstones and setting fires in public parks.

    When they catch them, I hope they have to do A LOT of community service!
