JEFFERSON, Iowa — It’s a big week ahead for people in Greene County.

The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission votes Thursday on a proposal to build a casino in downtown Jefferson. Commission members toured the town and the proposed site last month.

Developers say the $40 million project would bring 325 full-time jobs to the area.

But the commission has to agree on whether the state needs another casino and that it should go in Jefferson.
