Johnston knows state soccer. The Dragons have reached the tourney seven times, and played for the title twice.

The undefeated, #1 ranked team took on two time defending champions Iowa City West.

The Trojans took the lead in the second half with a goal from Jack Olson.

Dragons had several chances to equalize. Elvir Ibisevic came closest with a free kick that hit the post.

Iowa City West went on to hold on 1-0 and claim its third straight state title over a disappointed Johnston team.
