Norwalk Wins 2A State Soccer Title

DES MOINES, Iowa – Rain soaked fields made everyone wait three additional days to crown the 2A boys state soccer champions.

It was an all central Iowa final Tuesday as Norwalk took on Perry at the Cownie Soccer Complex.

Norwalk, featuring for the tenth time at the state tournament, got a first half lead thanks to Michael Riordan’s 11th minute finish.

They were able to hold on for the win as state tournament newcomers, Perry, tried to get back into the game.

Norwalk’s other 2A state soccer title came in 2007.
