CHEROKEE, Iowa – Investigators have released the identity of a body found along the Little Sioux River in Cherokee.

Police said a resident found the body of David Drisen, 44, of Cherokee, near Westcott Park at about 2 p.m. on Monday.

According to KTIV-TV, the body has been sent to the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny where an autopsy will be conducted. Police said the case remains under investigaiton.
