DES MOINES, Iowa — People who want to take advantage of buying new property in Polk County should make plans to head to Hy-Vee Hall next week.
The annual tax sale starts Monday morning at 7:30.
Properties with delinquent taxes will be up for sale.
If you owe taxes and wish to avoid the tax sale, payments must be physically received in the Treasurer’s Office by 5:00 Friday evening.
Payments can also be made online at www.IowaTaxAndTags.gov.
The Polk County Treasurer says the number of delinquent property tax parcels is down two-percent from last year, but the dollar amount is up by 16-percent.
