MURRAY, Iowa — Some of the residents of Murray will need to boil their water following a water main break.

City leaders issued a boil advisory for the portion of town north of Fifth Street.

A water main broke Wednesday causing a loss in water pressure, which can allow bacteria to enter the system. Repairs have been completed and the system is being flushed.

Water that will be used for drinking or cooking should be boiled for one minute, then cooled before using.

The advisory will be in place until two sets of samples show the water is safe.
