IOWA CITY, Iowa — A video camera was found in a restroom this month in a University of Iowa building.

According to the Des Moines Register, university officials sent an e-mail this week to staff in the Information Technology Department, letting them know about the incident.

A small video recording device was found June 4th in University Capitol Centre, a part of the Old Capitol Town Center.

The university’s Department of Public Safety has taken the camera that is under investigation.

Officials say the camera was found on the floor of the bathroom, which is used by both genders. Video recordings were found on the device’s memory storage.

Several of the people identified in the recordings have been contacted.
