DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines police have completed their investigation into a fatal weekend crash involving a motorcycle and say no charges will be filed in the accident.

It happened at the intersection of Southeast 14th and Park Avenue around 6:15 Saturday night.

Police say 20-year-old Brian Lundy turned his SUV in front of 29-year-old Shawn Sabin, causing his motorcycle to flip multiple times. Paramedics took Sabin to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police say Lundy was not impaired by alcohol or any other drugs at the time of the crash. Investigators conclude that a significant contributing factor to the accident was excessive speed on the part of the motorcyclist.

Lundy was not hurt in the crash.

You “Thank God” that a young man died; a son; a brother; as the friend of likely many.
You’re a sad example of humanity; and the very reason I believe in no God. How could a God allow a cretin such as yourself the capacity to crawl amongst his creation?
