Channel 13 News at 10 tops May late news ratings

Today in Iowa remains #1 in the morning

WHO-HD gains 8.5% at 10pm while KCCI drops 17%

 

The May television ratings have just been released and WHO-HD is now the undisputed #1 newscast at 10 p.m. and in the morning.  Channel 13 News at 10 wins with a 25.5 share…a .2 share advantage. Today in Iowa continues as the undisputed #1 morning news leader by SIX full share points with an incredible 42.9 share.  That means nearly 43% of 18 to 49 year olds watching television in central Iowa between 5 & 7 a.m. are watching WHO-HD.

Channel 13 News at 6 remains in a dead heat for the top spot trailing by just 2.3 share points.

Woods.  “And our commitment will be demonstrated again this fall when we launch central Iowa’s first 4 p.m. newscast giving us a distinct advantage in covering the big stories of the day plus breaking news and weather.”

Ratings estimates are according to Nielsen Media Research’s May 2014 measurement period for the Des Moines/Ames Designated Market Area (DMA).  The four week measurement period was April 24 through May 21, 2014.  Ratings estimates are for Adults 18-49 Share.  A share is the percentage of all TV households with sets in use in the Des Moines/Ames DMA (Designated Market Area) tuned to a particular program.  All ratings comparisons are on a May 2013 to May 2014 basis.
