DES MOINES, Iowa -- It’s an opportunity aspiring athletes would pay good money for, but Wednesday it’s free. Kids can train with former major league baseball players at Principal Park.

From 9 to 11 a.m. the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association is hosting a free baseball clinic. This program gives kids ranging from 6 to 16 an opportunity to work on their pitching, catching and batting with some of the best in the business.

More than 15,000 children from around the world participate in the Legends For Youth Clinics annually, but this is the clinic’s first time in Des Moines.

You can register your child online at: or before the clinic starts at Principal Park.
