DES MOINES, Iowa – Our active weather pattern continues with another round of severe weather possible on Wednesday evening into early Thursday morning.
Delays in the storms to the south and west and a very stubborn stationary front to the north have kept us out of the heavy rainfall and severe weather tonight. We are expecting more storms through the day Thursday.
The strongest storms are going to move through central Iowa between 3PM and 8PM. There will be a threat of severe storms and more flooding with the heavy rainfall expected.
There is still a flash flood watch for northcentral Iowa. Saturated soil in that area of the state will make it very dangerous for anyone living in flood-prone zones. Even areas that have never flooded before could be under water by Friday morning.
Friday will be dry…but still warm and humid. Storms are expected again by the end of the weekend and next week.
