Iowan Among Three Marines Killed in Afghanistan


HELMAND PROVINCE,  Afghanistan — An Iowa Marine has been killed in Afghanistan, along with two other Marines.

The U.S. Department of Defense says 25-year-old Lance Cpl. Adam F. Wolff of Cedar Rapids died June 20th while conducting combat operations in Helmand province.

Wolff was a member of the 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Also killed in the operation were 34-year-old Staff Sgt. David Stewart of Virginia and 19-year-old Lance Cpl. Brandon Garabrant of New Hampshire.
