AGRIBUSINESS: Senators Intend To Permanently Stop EPA Rule

Last week 30 Republican senators introduced legislation to prevent the Environmental Protection Agency from implementing its proposed Waters of the U.S. Rule.

Kansas Senator Pat Roberts says the legislation prohibits the EPA Administrator and Army Corps of Engineers Secretary from finalizing the rule or attempting similar regulation in the future.

In April, the EPA released a proposed rule it said would clarify its jurisdiction over Waters of the United States, as they related to the Clean Water Act.  They say it protects farmers.

Iowa Farm Bureau President Craig Hill calls the rule overreaching.
